Tradesmen handle RiverWolves in debut

Seven different players scored goals for the Oregon Tradesmen who made an impressive debut defeating Wausau RiverWolves Friday night 8-1. The game was played at Janesville Ice Arena.

Brent Edmondson scored the first-ever goal for the Tradesmen at the 5:44 mark of the first period.

Wausau tied the game less than a minute later to settle things down, but the final minute of the first period dictated how things were to go. Ethan McCormack scored twice in a :16 span to make the score 3-1 at intermission.

Second period goals by Gunner Schiffmann, Branwen Pollett and Jacob Best gave Oregon a commanding 5-1 advantage. Pollett finished the game with four points to lead all scorers.

Jefferson Coffin and Dylan Dent added tallies in the final frame to power the Tradesmen to victory. Goaltender Jason Cooke earned the win with 16 saves.

Oregon will travel to face Milwaukee Power on Saturday. Game time scheduled for 8:30 PM.
