Tradesmen end regular season with a shutout win

The 2020-21 NA3HL regular season came to a close earlier today in Oregon with the hometown Tradesmen earning a 3-0 shutout against the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Division playoffs are set to begin next weekend.

With playoff positions set in stone, the Jr. Blues and Oregon played a spirited affair on Sunday with the teams combining for 106 shots on net. Hunter Adams was the hero with 45 saves while his counterpart Owen Carlson stopped 58 of 60 shots for the Jr. Blues.

Jacob Best scored the game winner at 13:54 of the opening frame with an assist by Sam VanderHoeven. It was the ninth goal for Best who finished the season with 30 points. VanderHoeven finished his regular season with a team-best 45 points.

Carter Watters made it 2-0 in the second period before Devin Hays wrapped up the win with an empty net goal in the final minute of regulation. Parker Severson (40 points) and Hays also earned assists on the Watters tally.

The Tradesmen (19-20-1-0) closed out the season going 5-2-1-0 in their last eight. Both goaltenders posted a shutout during the stretch. Cole Garver stopped 56 shots vs Peoria on March 24. They could play a key role in the opening round of the playoffs.
