Severson game winner helps Oregon power past Milwaukee

Jan 22, 2021

Oregon Tradesmen took to the road for yet another “home” game tonight as the team continues its first NA3HL season. The Tradesmen scored twice in the final seven minutes to secure a third period comeback victory over the Milwaukee Power 3-2.

Carter Waters made his debut a memorable one as he scored for Oregon at 18:49 of the opening period. Markus Mack and Zane Van Zealand assisted on the powerplay tally – the only score of the period.

Milwaukee battled back in the second as Ben Cope tied things with a powerplay goal at 9:14. The Power then took the lead at 14:02 when Jackson Terpstra beat Tradesmen goaltender Cole Garver.

Oregon chased an equalizer for much of the third before Sam VanderHoeven tied the game 2-2 with 6:16 to play.

Parker Severson, who assisted on the VanderHoeven goal, would be the hero when he scored his 13th of the season as the Tradesmen improved to 11-10-0-0.

The two teams meet again on Saturday night at Ozaukee Ice Center.
