It was another exciting weekend for the Tradesmen with two wins, one ending in a shootout.
Friday the 13th was a lucky night for your Tradesmen as they came out with fire for the first period scoring 4 goals to St. Louis’ 1. Unfortunately, St. Louis was going to make them fight for it in the second and third period as they tested our defensive skills.
The third period was a bit reckless as the power plays increased for both sides. St. Louis took it to the end of regulation minutes to tie up the game bringing it to OT. As both teams were on point defensively, they put pressure on the guys in the net to end the game in a shootout. Erick Bachtle was the third player this season to make a shootout goal for the Tradesmen in order to get them to a win. Fromolz finished out the third period and OT while staying calm under the high pressure situation to make Bachtle stand out for the scorers.
Saturday, we had a regulation win to sweep the weekend from the St. Louis Jr. Blues. The second period held the action with both teams having consistent forwards where we both scored 3 goals. Mitchell Berens scored the Tradesmen’s 5th goal of the game to bring some excitement to the third period and really push us past St. Louis.
