A Big Tradesmen Sweep

Jan 24, 2024

The Tradesmen swept a three-day weekend and Captain Jordan Larkee got named the NA3HL Central Star of the Week.

After a hot start on Friday in Tomah, Wisconsin, the boys picked up some penalties and had to make the most of their penalty kill minutes in the third. D-core picked up momentum only allowing one goal into the net of Dylan Posch.

With that great start to the long weekend, the excitement brewed as they headed down to St. Louis, Missouri for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is where the Tradesmen racked up their points finishing the game 9-2. There were some extracurriculars in the second period making the drive down to Missouri worth it for any Tradesmen fans who made the roadtrip. With 9 points, it is obvious the forwards made their presence known on the ice. However, we also had some defensemen make their way up to the crease to push some past the Jr. Blues. Another honorable mention for Saturday’s game is Tyler Fromolz who only let 2 goals in on 31 shots.

The boys slowed down the scoring a bit on Sunday but made things interesting by bringing the Jr. Blues into a shootout and taking the final game of the weekend. With a clean game and limited players heading to the sin bin, we had to come back from 3 quick goals in the first period by St. Louis. Reid Watson scored the first Tradesmen goal on Sunday followed by Bryce Stensrud scoring the second and third goal of regulation and making a hattrick in the shootout to score us one more. Parker Murn and Erick Bachtle, the Tradesmen go-to’s for shootouts, also took shots during the shootout but were unsuccessful.

The Tradesmen take the road for the next two weekends but will be back at the home rink for most of February. Make sure to come to the Oregon Ice Arena for the Tradesmen game on February 9th for our First Responder night! See you soon.
